Outlander returns with episode three of season eight, titled Abies Fraseri, following last week's dramatic instalment that featured Caitríona Balfe's debut as director and a shocking character death.

UK viewers can stream the new episode on MGM+ via Prime Video on Saturday, March 21.

While the platform has not published an exact minute-by-minute schedule, the episode is expected to arrive just after midnight local time. In the United States, Abies Fraseri will be available on the Starz app at midnight Eastern on Friday, March 20, and will also air on the Starz channel at 8 p.m.

ET the same evening, with additional repeat broadcasts to follow.

The official synopsis suggests the Frasers will be pulled into local troubles when a newcomer turns to them for help. Jamie uncovers a traitor, and William begins probing the odd circumstances surrounding a relative's death.

A preview scene shows Jamie confronting someone over actions that endanger the settlement, while Roger, Brianna and Claire work with him to plan a response.

Tension rises as the group prepares for the risks that come with military presence nearby. Claire continues to run her surgical practice, and her skills and compassion remain central to the community.

But a fresh rift between Claire and Jamie opens over tensions involving Lord John Grey and his recent short-lived marriage to a time traveller, pushing Jamie toward a potentially dangerous choice.

The episode ends on a stark note in the teaser, with Jamie inspecting a musket and the implication that his anger could have serious consequences. Fans should expect a blend of moral conflict, battle-readiness and character reckonings in this instalment.

Outlander airs weekly on Starz in the U.S.

and on MGM+ via Prime Video in the U.K.; check local listings or your streaming app for the exact drop time in your region.
