Kanye West and his wife, Bianca Censori, have notified dentist Dr. Thomas Connelly that they plan to sue him for medical malpractice and negligence. The couple, who also plan to accuse the practitioner of gross negligence, fraud, and exploitation, among other claims, say that the rapper was forced to “fend for himself with a serious induced addiction” to nitrous oxide after a “surgical size” gas tank was delivered to their shared residence.
In a letter, first obtained by E! News on May 1, the lawyers of Kanye, 47, and Bianca, 30, claim the ‘Gold Digger’ rapper suffered serious injuries and damages as a result of the cosmetic dental treatment services he received from Dr Connelly in 2024 and 2025. The formal notice of intent to sue was sent to the expert by the couple’s attorneys from Golden Law.
The notice claims that the dentist “repeatedly administered” or supplied nitrous oxide and/or other sedative substances to Kanye, who legally changed his name to Ye in 2021. It’s said the gas was delivered in, “quantities and frequencies that had no legitimate dental or medical justification.
“Notably, you went so far as to deliver large 'surgical-size' nitrous oxide tanks to Ye’s personal residence (including the residence he shared with Ms. Censori), effectively enabling and encouraging him to inhale nitrous oxide outside of any medical setting,” the letter states.
It’s alleged that Dr Conelly “instructed” the father-of-four on how to “administer nitrous oxide” which caused him to “exhibit distressing neurological symptoms and erratic behaviour”, which is consistent with overuse.
The notice reads that Kanye suffered “extreme mental and physical distress”, which led to him seeking out “urgent medical care”.
The lawyers also accuse Dr Connelly’s actions of being “negligent, grossly negligent, and reckless, and some may have been intentional and malicious."
The legal team writes that Dr Connelly, who is also being accused of abandoning Kanye and inflicting psychological and emotional trauma, has caused “pain, suffering, and significant disruption” to the ‘Bound 2’ hitmaker’s life.
“As a result of your enabling, Ye developed a dependency on nitrous oxide, a condition he would not have encountered but for your misconduct,” they added.
It’s also claimed that Kanye’s team spent “reportedly on the order of $50,000 per month and cumulatively reaching into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.”
It’s also alleged that financial exploitation of the patient through fraudulent billing and overcharging had taken place.
Meanwhile, the Yeezy founder’s lawyers wrote that Bianca has been “deprived of the companionship, support, services, and marital relationship of her husband" during this time.
"Instead of enjoying a healthy married life, she was forced to witness Ye’s physical and mental distress and deterioration," the pair’s attorney wrote. “And to assume the burden of caring for him under extremely distressing circumstances.”
The notice of intent to sue comes amid rumours that Kanye and Bianca had split after more than two years of marriage.
Reports of their break-up came after Kanye released his latest album, WW3, which featured the song ‘BIANCA’.
The opening lines read: “Bianca, I just want you to come back / Come back to me / I know what I did to make you mad / Bianca, I just want you to come back / Come back to me / Want you to come back to me.
“My baby she ran away / But first she tried to get me committed / Not going to the hospital ’cause I am not sick I just do not get it.”
Kanye goes on to say that he has been “tracking” Bianca through an app, adding: “She hop in the car and she ran / My b**** just don’t understand / Sometimes it just feel like it’s planned.”
Weeks after the release of the hit song, Kanye posted photographs of himself and Bianca online, sparking reports of a reunion.
