
Veteran actress Marcia Ann Burrs, who had memorable roles in numerous sitcoms including Young Sheldon and It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia , died on Sunday March 22 at the age of 85. Her family confirmed the news but did not release a cause of death other than to say she died peacefully surrounded by family. she had been predeceased by her husband of 52 years, NBC business executive Joe Bures, who spent two decades as aat NBC, died in January 2020 at age 83.
The star was a well-known face on the small screen, with a multitude of appearances under her belt during her decades long career. In recent years she garnered a whole new generation of fans with a a memorable role in It’s Always Sunny... She played the former high school girlfriend of Danny DeVito’s Frank Reynolds. At a school reunion many decades later he was disappointed to learn she wasn't still a wild teenager leading him to tell her: "I think you’re too old for me." In a hilarious comeback she responded: "Frank, I’m two years younger than you."
Alongside that role and Young Sheldon she also appered in several huge sitcoms including Frasier, That ’70s Show, Scrubs, How I Met Your Mother, Moonlighting and The King of Queens.
Marcia also stretched her dramatic muscles with memorable parts in Mad Men, Grey’s Anatomy, Criminal Minds, Bones, Monk, and Station 19 among others.
On the big screen she made her mark in films including Rob Reiners Rumor Has It in 2005 and Sofia Coppolas The Bling Ring in 2013.
She was also beloved for her role as Mrs Claus in two Hallmark television films - Single Santa Seeks Mrs. Claus in 2004 and Meet the Santas 2005.
