The final series of Outlander has recently arrived and viewers are relishing the eighth instalment as it unfolds on screens.

The third episode from series eight featured a massive twist that has audiences captivated and eager for more, reports the Daily Record.

Here's a look at when episodes of Outlander are released and when you can catch the Starz series again.

Outlander is released on Fridays on Starz in the USA from 12am Eastern Standard Time (ET).

If you have the Starz app then you can watch it from midnight.

Episodes are broadcast at 8pm ET on Starz on Fridays and repeated twice more on the cable channel after this.

In the UK, episodes of Outlander are released at 12am midnight on Saturdays.

You can watch episodes any time after they're released on Saturdays on the streaming platform MGM+, which is available as an add-on channel on Prime Video.

You'll need to have a subscription to both Prime Video and MGM+ to watch episodes in the UK.

Outlander series eight consists of a total of 10 episodes, which will be airing weekly.

There is also going to be a break after episode eight when the show won't be on, but this will only be for two weeks rather than a midseason hiatus.

Series eight's finale is scheduled to be airing on May 16 and will finally bring the epic series to a conclusion.

In an attempt to avoid spoilers, the Outlander team filmed several endings to series eight and even the cast doesn't know how the series will be concluding.

Caitríona Balfe, who portrays Claire Fraser, previously confessed to The Hollywood Reporter: "I'm just as in the dark as everybody else!"

She elaborated: "So this season was interesting because normally we would get an outline of the whole season before we would start, and this season was the one season where I was most in the dark throughout the whole entire thing."

Her co-star Sam Heughan revealed: "I had an ending that I wanted and I pushed for, and I know a few people did. I'm really excited because obviously we couldn't finish [Diana Gabaldon's] books. We couldn't do the full 10 seasons, so we've had to make our own ending."

Once the show concludes, viewers can tune into the prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which has already been confirmed to be in development for its second season.

Outlander author Diana Gabaldon is currently crafting her 10th novel in the series, A Blessing For A Warrior Going Out, which is confirmed to be her final one following the adventures of Jamie (portrayed by Heughan) and Claire Fraser.
