Country star Ronnie Bowman has tragically died following a motorcycle accident outside of Nashville, Tennessee, on Sunday, March 22. The hit songwriter, from North Carolina, was 64 years old when he sadly passed away. Bluegrass Life announced the news of his death in a statement posted to social media. “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronnie Bowman, who went to be with the Lord today at 2:55 CST,” it penned on Facebook. “One of the greatest singers and songwriters in Bluegrass and Country music, and one of the kindest souls you could ever hope to know. Prayers for his family and friends. We’ll always love you, Ronnie.”
Fans have been sharing their tributes to the award-winning musician on social media following the heartbreaking news.
One person shared on Facebook: "We’re heartbroken. Prayers for all of his family and many friends."
Taking to Instagram, another person shared: "Words cannot express the immense sorrow that has hit our community and our family. I have a lot of mentors and a lot of friends I consider family, and Ronnie Bowman was one of them. Ronnie, we are gonna miss you, but I know I’ll see you again. Rest easy."
A third said: "Prayers for his family. I had the pleasure of meeting him back in 80s when he played with LRB. I think he will always be remembered for singing "Mary Ann." He sang it better than anyone I've ever heard. RIP RONNIE."
