Our Yorkshire Farm icon Amanda Owen has announced she and her family have welcomed a brand new addition to the flock – sharing an adorable snap of her daughters cuddling up with the new arrivals. Amanda, 51, announced that the family sheepdog Nell had welcomed a litter of puppies, which delighted fans said were “bundles of joy”.

Alongside some snaps of the tiny pups, Amanda announced: “Sheepdog puppies. Nell is being an attentive mother but is happy to take a little time out from her squirming, yipping litter. *I get that*.” The accompanying snaps showed Amanda’s kids cuddling up with Nell in the barn, holding her pups and watching as they suckled at their mother.

Fans quickly rushed to support the family, with one writing on Instagram: “Beautiful pictures of Nell’s adorable puppies and your gorgeous girls!”

Another echoed: “Oh! So tiny, so cute!”

A third posted: “Oh how I would like one! Best dogs I ever had – too old now to give one the exercise it needs.”

In another farming update, Amanda shared that one of her sheep was suffering from an inward-growing horn, which she was forced to perform surgery on.

She explained: “We’ve had this sheep in our sights for a while. A quick and easy fix that you’d have to think will make her feel much more comfortable.

“It doesn’t hurt to remove the end of the horn but I would say it absolutely does hurt to have it growing inwards.”

The horn was growing towards the sheep’s eye – but after the operation, with the sharp tip removed, the animal’s vision was thankfully saved.
