They managed to get a minute in for their speech, but as another member of the group attempted to talk, the music fired up, and the voice-over started explaining what was coming next. Other winners had managed to get an incredibly long speech in, but Demon Hunters were absolutely robbed. I'll be honest, I don't actually listen to them, so this isn't even a personal message of support; it's sheer disgust at their treatment.
I can't possibly imagine having one of the biggest occasions of your career stolen from you in such a brutal way, and I appreciate that there's a schedule to follow, but can't we even things out a little bit? Some people may have shorter speeches, some people may have longer, but at least let the poor guy speak. We've seen some wild things take place at the Oscars, such as Will Smith hitting Chris Rock at the Oscars, and they issued a statement afterwards.
I think it's time to issue another statement. They need to apologise, they can't give the group back their moment, but they can at least soften the blow by apologising for the most brutal moment that would've happened in their career so far. They also deserve to be able to say what they wanted to say, even if it's just a case of sharing a speech across social media. The Oscars made a mistake after a KPop group made history at their awards show, and they need to fix it ASAP.
And I'm not the only one who was furious over seeing the clips go around online, people took to X to rage over the decision with one user writing: "That might actually be the most disrespectful thing i’ve seen at the Oscars in a while. Adam brody got a 5 minute speech but the winners for best original song for golden couldn’t even get a full minute what the actual f***."
Another wrote: "Working your whole life to get that award and you don’t get more than 3 words out like oh." A third raged: "All jokes aside they need to stop cutting people off mid speech Oscars It's disrespectful, especially when the KPDH team were so concise."
It's clear that people aren't happy with the poor group's snub, and I don't blame anyone. There needs to be an apology ASAP, what on earth is going on with awards season this year?
