Royal fans were delighted after they caught a glimpse of Peter Phillips with his fiancée, Harriet Sperling, at their first Cheltenham appearance for this year. Princess Anne’s son appeared all loved up as he posed with his wife-to-be in front of the cameras on Friday during Gold Cup Day.

Harriet looked stunning in a tweed coat by Suzannah London, a black hat, black boots and a sage green bag. Peter looked equally dapper in a tan suit paired with a brown hat.

The pair were all smiles as they posed with Peter’s sister, Zara Tindall, and her husband, Mike.

Royal fans were delighted to see the couple and took to social media to express their jubilation.

Peter announced his engagement to the NHS paediatric specialist nurse last August.

A statement issued for the couple by Gerard Franklin read: “Mr Peter Phillips, the son of HRH The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips and Ms Harriet Sperling, daughter of the late Mr Rupert Sanders and Mrs Mary Sanders of Gloucestershire, have today confirmed their official engagement.”
