Amy Dowden has made a heartbreaking confession as she admitted a "dark cloud" is surrounding her. The Strictly Come Dancing professional was diagnosed with cancer in May 2023 and underwent treatment including a mastectomy, chemotherapy, fertility treatment, and later discovered she had sepsis and had to undergo a second surgery in November last year. The 35-year-old has now opened up about her desire to have children after she had to undergo medically-induced menopause following her chemotherapy treatment.
Before her treatment started, Amy and her husband Ben Jones froze five embryos, but Amy has since admitted that there is a "big, dark cloud" over her because of questions about whether she will become a mother, stating it's something she has wanted to do since she was a little girl.
Speaking to The Mirror, Amy explained that she always had her baby Anabelle by her side and said she has two nephews who she loves to pieces. However, she added: "We will cross that bridge when it comes to it and I will explore every option going."
She also told the publication that while she's been given the all-clear, she's still having regular check-ups but after her operation in November, she feels like she's "closing a chapter" on a very challenging part of her life as she said: "I can finally see a future ahead of me".
It comes shortly after Amy shared a post saying that she feels proud of how much progress she's made in the last two years, reflecting on the challenging time back in December with a series of photos she posted on Instagram.

She said that she can still remember how she felt when she was rushed into hospital after the side effects of eight rounds of chemotherapy, admitting that it was the "lowest point she'd ever been" and told her husband and her friend that "cancer has taken me, I'll never be the same again".
But then she continued: "It didn't come easy, after a year of real hard work, but it got me feeling like me again. I'm posting this to show it's POSSIBLE. Yes it's been hard but I DID IT... I wish I rewarded myself more along the way. But gosh I am so proud of how far I've had to dig deep."
She admitted she believed the cancer had took her dancing, but her husband Ben and her fellow Strictly star Carlos Gu supported her through to make sure it didn't.
Amy ended the post with the declaration: "Cancer you didn't take and will not take who I am!"
