
Lohan was accused of stalling production when she called in sick after allegedly partying.
He wrote: "We are well aware that your ongoing all-night heavy partying is the real reason for your so-called 'exhaustion.'"
The actress was described as "discourteous, irresponsible and unprofessional" by Robinson in the letter and was accused of endangering the film's quality.
Robinson broke into the industry in the mid-1980s after serving in the United States Army. He went on to produce various films through his company, including the 1988 hit Young Guns, starring Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen.
His success in the industry grew in the late 80s and 90s with the releases of Renegades and Young Guns II in 1989, followed by The Exorcist III the following year.
Robinson's other producer credits include Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves (1990), The Last Of The Mohicans (1992), True Romance (1993), Diabolique (1996) and Wild America (1997).
He worked alongside Hollywood A-listers Matt Damon and Angelina Jolie on 2006 film The Good Shepherd, directed by Robert De Niro.
In 2011, he produced the film Dream House, starring Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz. He was credicted for 10 episodes of The Exorcist TV series, while his last came in 2023, on the film The Exorcist: The Believer in 2023.
"When you’re working at a studio, where it’s nice and comfortable, there’s no pain and in my mind no short gain,” Robinson told Variety in 1997. "Bottom line is that the greatest feeling in the world is when you make a movie that you know is good and plays unusually well. That’s an emotional home run."
Robinson is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Lois Robinson, and his six children, sons Michael, Patrick, Brian, David, Thomas, and daughter Beth.
