The bitter dispute tearing apart the Beckham family means David and Victoria may be unable to send their son, Brooklyn, birthday wishes this year. Brooklyn, who celebrates his 27th birthday today (Wednesday), sparked controversy with a remarkable statement issued in January.
Following months of rumours surrounding the family's relationship, the couple's firstborn shared his perspective through an explosive social media post. The former Manchester United legend and ex-Spice Girl are also understood to have been sent a legal letter from Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz, last summer. The correspondence reportedly requested that David and Victoria stop contacting the couple and refrain from mentioning them on social media.
Whilst the letter was simply a request and is not believed to have resulted in any legal proceedings, Brooklyn has additionally blocked his parents across digital platforms.

The drastic measures implemented by the 27-year-old suggest that David and Victoria may be prevented from sending any birthday greetings to their alienated son, with multiple communication routes currently closed.
The family breakdown intensified after Brooklyn and Nicola were absent from the former England captain's 50th birthday celebrations in London in May 2025.
The startling Instagram post from Brooklyn, which emerged months later, accused his famous parents of trying to "ruin" his marriage to Nicola since their April 2022 wedding. The statement further suggested he's endured "relentless attacks" from them through media outlets.
He said: "I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.
"I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family.
"The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into. Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they'll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade."
David and Victoria are yet to publicly address their son's bombshell comments. Nevertheless, David admitted in a birthday tribute marking Brooklyn's 26th last year that he longed to see his eldest son.
The snap showed a youthful Brooklyn pulling funny faces alongside his dad. The 50-year-old even tagged his son and several other family members in his post.
