
Iran's new Supreme Leader has reportedly been chosen after Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in US-Israel strikes on country on Saturday. It is claimed his second-eldest son Mojtaba Khamenei has been named as his successor.
Iran's Assembly of Experts, the group responsible for electing the country's next Supreme Leader, was meeting virtually on Tuesday evening, according to the semi-official Fars News Agency. Reports suggest the Assembly of Experts' heaquarters in Qom had been earlier been hit during US-Israeli strikes.
