Kelly Osbourne has responded to cruel trolls who targeted her following the Brit Awards. The Osbournes star, 41, who tragically lost her father last year, attended the ceremony in Manchester to accept a posthumous Lifetime Achievement award for Ozzy, who passed away in July following cardiac arrest.

The mother-of-one, who collected the honour alongside her grieving mother, Sharon, faced a torrent of online abuse over the weekend, with numerous critics commenting on her appearance, claiming she looked excessively thin. Kelly, who was callously told she resembled a "dead body" after her Grammys appearance last month, responded: "There is a special kind of cruelty in hurting someone who is clearly going through something."

She has now addressed the matter once more, this time sharing a message from Mia Tyler, daughter of Aerosmith legend Steve Tyler, who has publicly backed Kelly amid the controversy.

Highlighting that whilst grief can transform someone, it doesn't render their body open to scrutiny, Mia's post stated: "How hard is it to not be a d**k? Public grief is not public property. Grief can change a person. That doesn't make their body a topic for debate..

"Before you comment on someone's body, consider the possibility that they're carrying something heavier than your opinion... It takes real strength to stand in the public eye accepting accolades for their late iconic father and hold themselves together in front of the world...

"The least we can do is show the same grace in return. Kindness costs nothing. Cruelty costs character. It's unsettling how quickly people will dissect someone's appearance instead of honouring their courage.. 'If you have the kind of energy to comment, you have the energy to be kind. Choose accordingly," reports the Mirror.

Shortly after the Brits, having undoubtedly witnessed the torrent of abusive remarks written about her across social media, Kelly wrote: "There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something.

"Kicking me whilst I'm down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most..

"None of it proves strength, it only reveals a profound absence of character. I'm currently going through the hardest time of my life. I should not even have to defend myself. But I won't sit here and allow myself to be dehumanised in such a way."

Last month, Kelly, who poignantly described Ozzy as her "best friend", confronted the cruel online troll who claimed she resembled a dead body. After being dogged by rumours that she's been using fat jabs, Kelly shared the distasteful comment on her Instagram page and responded: "Literally can't believe how disgusting some human beings are! No one deserves this sort of abuse!"

Alongside her statement, she posted a selection of fans' comments defending the star and condemning the dreadful message. Understandably, Kelly was deeply upset by the repugnant insult, as she continued: "This too shall pass, but, like, holy f**k."
