Two suspected Iranian drones have struck the US Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with no initial reports of injuries, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The attack on the Saudi capital is among a growing number of Iranian strikes targeting American military and diplomatic installations across the region.
The US Embassy in Kuwait was also hit on Sunday and Monday, US news sources reported.
The US Mission to Saudi Arabia issued an immediate shelter in place order following the strikes. "We recommend American citizens in the Kingdom to shelter in place immediately," it said in a post on X, adding that it had issued "a shelter in place notification for Jeddah, Riyadh and Dhahran and are limiting non-essential travel to any military installations in the region."
The US State Department has been contacted for comment.
