Brits have been urged to stay away from parts of Edinburgh after “reports of a man with a bladed weapon”. Armed police descended on Calder, in the western part of the city, to attend the incident. A statement from Police Scotland said: “The public is being advised to avoid the Calder area of Edinburgh following reports of a man with a bladed weapon. Police, including firearms officers, are in attendance.”
A local mum told Edinburgh Live she was unable to take her children to school due to the unfolding event on Calder Gardens. Police were reportedly seen in the area before 9am on Monday.
