It’s been almost a year since the Supreme Court’s landmark ruling last April, affirming what most ordinary, normal Brits already know: that “man” and “woman” mean biological sex.

Yet, the new Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) Code – which cements biological sex into law and safeguards single-sex spaces like toilets, changing rooms, and refuges - has sat on Bridget Phillipson’s desk gathering dust since September.

Even the EHRC are getting impatient, warning in October that further delays simply prolong the unacceptable current situation, where women’s spaces and safety are being compromised in favour of toxic, woke ideology.

Despite welcoming the original ruling, she continues to drag her feet. Why? She’s either terrified of her own rabid backbenchers, or she’s just as committed to trans ideology.

Let’s not forget that Labour’s backbenches are infested with trans zealots, some of them little more than useful puppets to poisonous organisations such as Stonewall who criticised the Supreme Court’s decision. They won’t want their trans agenda derailed by something as silly as biological fact or a ruling by the highest court in the land.

Indeed, the Prime Minister himself parroted that “trans women are women”, while Rosie Duffield was hounded out of the Labour Party for daring to express near-identical views to the Supreme Court. It’s clear that Labour is no friend to women.

Worse still, the civil service has been pushing the trans agenda through a “climate of fear”. The Civil Service Union has brazenly opposed the Supreme Court judgement, with some members even threatening to strike over the Code.

If the very people who supposedly run this country can’t grasp basic biology, then it’s no wonder the country’s in such a mess.

This farce exposes a deeper rot: if government can't define "man" or "woman," language loses all meaning, and society crumbles. Labour's happy to sacrifice women's hard-won protections to appease a tiny, vocal minority. But not only that, they also leave transgender people in an unfair no man’s land.

The Tories had 14 years to fix this mess and did nothing. Every other establishment party seems more than happy to maintain the status quote. It's seems like the only party in British politics that’s able to confidently define a woman is Reform UK.

Sarah Pochin is the Reform UK MP for Runcorn and Helsby.
