The Metropolitan Police is conducting inquiries following allegations relating to Andrew’s former royal close protection officers. An unnamed former senior Met protection officer told LBC on Tuesday that members of the Royalty and Specialist Protection (RaSP) may have “wilfully turned a blind eye” during visits to a private island owned by disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

The Loose Women panellist, 63, has suggested the monarchy could crumble if King Charles does not rectify the ongoing saga as she addressed Andrew's known reputation.

Writing in her latest column for The Sun, Jane claimed Andrew's "stubborn silence" will continue to be an issue for the Royal Family.

"The financial greed of Andrew and his estranged wife Sarah Ferguson propelled them to ingratiate themselves with a man prepared to pay off their debts without ever stopping to wonder what the payback might be," she wrote.

"They are the central protagonists responsible for dragging the monarchy in to this mess, but significant others played supporting roles by seemingly turning a blind eye to their shenanigans."

Jane suggested some of the blame lies within the royal instution.

She wrote: "Stories abound of [Andrew's] towering temper and rudeness to staff, so if any of them felt misgivings about the visits of Epstein and various 'models' to the Palace, it was hardly an environment that encouraged them to speak up.

Similarly, his police bodyguards and the intelligence service must have known his every move, so why didn’t they express concerns about the company he was keeping?"

The ITV star claimed the royals can only emerge from this mess if they come forward and address questions about how much the Palace knew of Andrew's alleged escapades.

But there is one thing King Charles can do to save the monarchy from falling - and it is going further than banishing him from Royal Lodge or the Sandringham Estate.

She concluded "a deserted island off the coast of Wales came on the market for less than the price of a semi-detached house," adding it would be a perfect fit for a former prince.
