National Highways has shared the following information on the incident:- The M66 is currently closed southbound in Greater Manchester between Junction 1 and Junction 2
- The closure is due to a a serious four-vehicle collision
- Emergency services are in attendance
- Traffic has been held while the incident is managed
- Greater Manchester Police are leading the response and will be carrying out collision investigation work
- A closure is being implemented at the A56 Edenfield junction to safely manage traffic
