
A man has been rushed to hospital after being injured in a shooting incident in North Dublin. It is believed the victim was shot in the back in the incident in the Ballymun area on Sunday afternoon, with emergency services rushing to the scene.
It is also understood Gardai believe other weapons, including slash hooks, were brandished in the incident. A spokesman told the Irish Mirror: "Gardaí are at the scene of a discharge of a firearm in Ballymun, Dublin 11, today Sunday 15th February 2026. An adult male has been conveyed to hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life threatening at this time. Enquiries are ongoing." The scene has reportedly been sealed off, with a full police investigation now underway.
