Now, just three months on, Alan is returning to the Scottish Isles to produce a similar home renovation show titled Castle Man. Here, he will renovate a derelict castle, adding his signature flair and pizzas to the property.
Following his success on Celebrity Traitors, the funnyman has also reportedly landed jobs with two other streamers set to begin this year, and the remainder of his 2027 calendar is jam-packed with his upcoming stand-up tour.
But Alan’s availability on The Italian Job isn’t the only issue the production is facing. A source told Daily Mail that there were also issues with the location for the next renovation show.
It is understood that Amanda and Alan were pushing for Japan while the BBC were keen to go for a cheaper and more accessible option of Scandinavia. The insider explained: “As time went on, both Amanda and Alan’s diaries were filling up with other projects, and it soon became impossible to allocate enough filling time this year.

“It looks like the show will take a hiatus this year while both Amanda and Alan settle on a new destination they both love and can both find enough room in their diaries to accommodate the huge filming commitment. It will be back, though!”
Express.co.uk has reached out to the BBC and Alan and Amanda’s representatives for a comment. The renovation series was previously reported to be one of the biggest entertainment shows of the year when it first aired.
The success of the fan-based programme quickly sparked a string of follow-ups, including their hugely popular Spanish Job, Greek Job, and an Italian Job Christmas Special.
Their latest instalment, Amanda & Alan’s Greek Job, proved to be their biggest success yet, with a staggering four million people tuning in per episode. The eight-part series saw the dynamic duo transform the crumbling property on the Greek island of Corfu.
