
The bomb squad has been scrambled to a quiet duck pond in Cornwall after the discovery of a suspect device. Devon and Cornwall police arrived on scene at around 9.35am on Monday, February 9.
A cordon is in now place at the scene at Boscawen Park, on Malpas Road following the report of the device. Photos taken this afternoon by CornwallLive show police tape and a traffic cone blocking off the entrance, along with a police vehicle on scene. As part of a statement, a spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall police said: "Police were notified at around 9.35am on Monday 9 February to the duck pond at Boscawen Park, on Malpas Road, Truro following reports of a suspected unexploded ordnance being located.
"Officers attended and the pond has been taped off.
"The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team have been informed and will assess the item."
