New documents have shed light on the long weekend Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor spent with Jeffrey Epstein after he claimed to have "cut ties" with the convicted paedophile. Andrew has insisted that he had only travelled to New York to tell Epstein that they could no longer be friends following his 2008 conviction for soliciting a minor for prositution.
But files released as part of the US Department of Justice's (DoJ) tranche of records linked to the disgraced financier suggest a packed five-day itinerary, including a VIP dinner, shopping and meeting with a Victoria's Secret Model. Emails between Epstein and Peggy Siegal, publicist for producer Harvey Weinstein, revealed details of the glitzy dinner, including "gold ballroom chairs", and labelled the evening "sensational".
The day before the former prince was photographed walking in Central Park with Epstein, the financier also emailed someone called Irina asking for "new girls" and sent a driver to pick up a Victoria's Secret model named Lara from John F Kennedy airport for a "one or two night" trip. Andrew's insistence that he broke contact with Epstein after the visit was also contradicted by an email sent wishing him a "wonderful Christmas" two weeks later, referring to him and his associates as "my US family".
Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing.
