The Met Office has named the 10 UK areas facing snow on Friday as more bitterly cold and wintry weather sweeps across the country.

The national forecaster has issued new 12-hour weather warnings for snow, running from 3pm on Thursday until 3am on Friday, with the Met Office urging drivers in the affected areas to pack essential items before they travel, including warm clothing, food, water, a blanket, a torch, an ice scraper/de-icer, a warning triangle, high high-visibility vest and an in-car phone charger
