Chris Packham has installed a camera to live stream a bird feeder in his garden to encourage others to help nature.

The naturalist is beaming a video of birds feeding, fluttering and squabbling in real time from the New Forest.

The TV presenter is sharing the live feed as part of his mission with movile network Ecotalk to keep people connected to nature in everyday life.

He said: "At EcoTalk we are lucky to be restoring and rewildling large chunks of the UK countryside - and we are already seeing great results.

"But like many people I like doing my bit on my own far smaller patch, in my garden.

"And it’s been getting results too with significant increases in biodiversity. I’m going to be offering some tips on what we can all do to make a difference for nature at home , from window boxes to suburban spaces and allotments.

"First up, I’m streaming one of my feeders. Keep your eyes peeled  living in the New Forest means we occasionally get some unusual visitors."

Mr Packham, who is Ecotalk's chief ecologist, is on a mission to create a haven for wildlife across hundreds of acres of ancient woodland amid a climate and biodiversity crisis.
