The Prince and Princess of Wales have today been named among the most influential people, as Time Magazine unveils its annual awards. The royal couple have been listed in the Top 100 Philanthropy Awards category, with the magazine hailing them as innovators for "mordernising royal philanthropy".
Over the years, Princess Kate has raised awareness of the importance of early childhood years, as she has launched her Shaping Us scheme and Royal Foundation Business Taskforce for Early Childhood, aimed at encouraging employers to prioritise caring for the young.
Meanwhile, Prince William has worked on his Earthshot Prize, which provides £5 million per year on eco-projects around the globe, and awards creative and sustainable initiatives.
William's campaign to end homelessness through the charity Homewards has also linked up with big companies such as Pret-a-Manger and Natwest.
It comes after Harry and Meghan were named in the Top 100 list of most influential people back in 2021. After quitting as senior rotals, Harry and Meghan have long hailed their philanthropic work through The Archewell Foundation.
Times Magazine said of William and Kate: "Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, are less concerned with cultural preservation and more attuned to social issues, tackling homelessness and rural mental health through their Royal Foundation and spotlighting innovative solutions to climate change through the Earthshot Prize, an environmental award founded by William in 2020."
The magazine added: "Crucial to the Waleses’ approach is aligning social imperatives with sound business strategies and building corporate alliances."
