Prince William is at the Vatican today as he attends the funeral of Pope Francis on behalf of his father King Charles. The Prince of Wales, 42, arrived shortly before the service began this morning, paying respect to the Pope’s as he laid in his sealed coffin. William then took his seat with statesmen and other world leaders.

The prince, who was not accompanied by Princess Kate, has been praised by a number of royal fans. As well as complimenting his smart attire, many were quick to note how William is “every inch a statesman”. He is the only British royal in attendance at the funeral.

One fan wrote on X: “He is every inch a statesman. Upright, honest, and dignified.”

Another said: “His suit and tie is on point and Wills is looking every inch a statesman.”

A third wrote: “He always steps up and always looks immaculate. We are so lucky to have him.”

Someone else said: “So statesman like.”
