A car was obliterated by a speeding train after the driver, following Google Maps directions, ended up on the railway tracks. The driver and his two passengers narrowly escaped death as they abandoned their Bollero just in time before an express train crashed into it.

The incident occurred around midnight on Wednesday (16/4) in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, in northern India. Reports suggest that the vehicle got stuck in the ballast beside the line as the driver tried to cross directly over the railway.

The occupants- Ravindra Singh Tomar, Hemant Sahu, and Anutendra- fled from the vehicle as the train approached at high speed. The Bundelkhand Express train collided with the car, crushing it completely despite the driver's attempt to apply the emergency brakes.

The train was halted immediately after the collision, disrupting services for nearly an hour. Investigations revealed that the car owner, who was travelling to Lalitpur, had been following Google Maps when he unknowingly drove onto the railway track.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police, and Magarpur railway station staff arrived at the site and cleared the wreckage. The three individuals involved, all residents of Lalitpur, were unharmed and have been detained by the RPF.

Public Relations Officer Manoj Singh has confirmed that an official investigation is currently in progress to ascertain how the vehicle found its way onto the track, particularly in a location devoid of a railway crossing.
