Phillip Schofield’s daughter, Molly Schofield, has denied claims she is married after rumours of a "secret wedding" after being congratulated by fans. Molly, 32, was last known to have been dating Will Grieveson, and she has endured a difficult time as of late after her dad returned to TV screens last October to appear on Cast Away. Molly has received many negative comments online after her TV presenter father was fired from This Morning after he admitted to a secret affair with a younger male colleague.
A local media outlet had reported that Molly recently got married in the presence of her family and friends. The report suggested that her new husband is likely to surprise many fans. Following the announcement, Molly's followers have been reaching out to her to extend their best wishes.
Molly seemed bemused and insisted it wasn't true. She shared a photo of the headline and wrote, "Sounds like it would have been lovely day—if any shred of this was true. I can confirm I am not married, but thank you to the many people who were misled and have congratulated me."
Molly stays relatively out of the spotlight, but last October, she was forced to respond to a cruel troll on social media who was speaking about her father.
She reposted a comment that read: "So if she's so proud of him, why does she use her mother's name and go by Molly Lowe? That's a recent change. She was always Schofield and no doubt happy to use it."
Molly quipped: "I'm Molly Schofield... and proud to be." She added a middle finger emoji to drive her point home.
Phil and his wife, Stephanie Lowe, have two daughters, Molly and Ruby. The three recently appeared on Cast Away for a farewell dinner before Phil left to be completely isolated on a deserted island. In 2020, Phil and Stephanie separated after he publicly came out as gay.
Additionally, he later revealed that he had engaged in an affair with a younger male colleague, which he described as "unwise but not illegal."
PR expert Riley Gardiner recently weighed in on whether a comeback is at all feasible for Phillip. Speaking to Entertainment Daily, Gardiner clarified that any return to mainstream television seems implausible.
They said: "I can’t see Phillip Schofield returning to mainstream television any time soon – at least in the short to medium term. The nature of his exit from ITV amid the high-profile scandal and intense media scrutiny has left his reputation in a difficult place, particularly with broadcasters who are highly sensitive to public perception."
