Prince Harry has been referred to as "bitter" following his recent bombshell interview with the BBC. Discussing whether the Duke of Sussex has been struggling since stepping down from royal duties in early 2020, royal expert Robert Jobson claimed the 40-year-old appears to be missing the Firm. This, he claimed, may be the reason behind the Duke's decision to lash out at the royals.

With his family having recently appeared at major events for the 80th anniversary of VE Day, Harry was noticeably absent after stepping down as a senior working royal five years ago. Speaking on The Sun's Royal Exclusive show, Mr Jobson said: "Maybe there was a degree of that bitterness in what he gave that interview with the BBC, a sense, again, he wasn't there - and he knows he should be there." Speaking of Harry's wife of almost seven years, Meghan Markle, he added: "A lot of people blame Meghan for a lot, I don't blame her at all. I think he's got to be man enough to make his own decisions and some of the decisions he's made have been absolutely got wrong."

Mr Jobson added that, if Harry hadn't hit out at the royals like he has, he may have been invited back to join the royals for events such as VE Day.

He added: "Nobody said you shouldn't go away and have a private life but if he hadn't done the book and if he hadn't done the Oprah interview, there's no doubt in my view that he would have been invited back to do certain things."

Despite claiming that he wants to reconcile with the royals, Harry said in his recent interview that he has no regrets - even if some members of his family never forgive him.

Royal photographer Arthur Edwards, who also spoke on the show, said that he believes Harry should own up to his mistakes.

Mr Edwards said: "If he'd have said in that interview 'I'm sorry Dad for what I've done,' I think then the King would have probably said 'okay let's have a chat.'

"All he needs to do is say sorry and that he's not going to do it again, not going to betray the Royal Family again - he just got it all wrong."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex now reside in California with their two children, six-year-old Archie and three-year-old Lilibet.
