Prince William is "determined" more than ever to protect his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, from a royal "heir and spare nightmare", following Prince Harry's explosive BBC interview, a royal expert has claimed. The Duke of Sussex has made various claims against the royals since quitting the Royal Family five years ago, including in his memoir, Spare, in which he wrote about being a royal "spare".

His estranged relationship with the royals received another blow last week after he gave a new interview to the BBC, after he lost his High Court appeal regarding his downgraded security in the UK and described the ruling as a "good old-fashioned establishment stitch-up", adding that the King "won't speak" to him. Now, a royal commentator said that Harry's "spare" claims have been a "nightmare" for the Firm but have also served as a "cautionary tale" for the future of the monarchy. Royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News: "Prince William is particularly determined to do all he can to avoid the ‘heir and spare,’ which has caused so many royal nightmares [over] the generations.

"He and Princess Catherine are focused on the importance of ‘normal’ simple childhood moments, such as family chores together, cooking, family holidays, sports and time in nature. They are keen on country walks and bonfires, very British traditions."

Ms Fordwich added that the Princess of Wales is as "determined" as her husband to raise her daughter, Princess Charlotte, with a "combination of adherence to traditional royal values of duty and public service, as well as a close-knit, loving, nurturing approach in the hopes of avoiding [another] royal ‘spare,’ such as her wayward uncle."

"Princess Catherine [like William] is determined to raise Princess Charlotte with a combination of adherence to traditional royal values of duty and public service, as well as a close-knit, loving, nurturing approach in the hopes of avoiding [another] royal ‘spare,’ such as her wayward uncle," said Fordwich.

In his bombshell interview, Harry said that the King "won't speak to me because of this security stuff", but that he did not want to fight any more and did "not know how much longer my father has".

But he added: "There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family".

"Of course, they will never forgive me for lots of things but there's no point in continuing to fight anymore."

"I would love reconciliation with my family. There's no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious."

Buckingham Palace said in a statement: "All these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion on each occasion."
