Brooklyn Beckham has finally broken his silence on social media amidst the alleged Beckham family feud. The aspiring chef, 26, and his wife, Nicola Peltz, 30, were noticeably absent from David Beckham's 50th birthday bash over the weekend. Their absence comes amid rumours of a rift between Brooklyn and his brother Romeo over Romeo's girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, who Brooklyn reportedly dated back in 2016.
Actress Nicola finds herself at the heart of the controversy, with insiders close to the Beckhams suggesting that Victoria and David are "done" with their daughter-in-law, accusing her of being 'controlling' towards her husband. However, Brooklyn's first Instagram post since his father's birthday was full of praise for his wife.
He credited the billionaire heiress for inspiring him to create his new hot sauce, reflecting: "I was having a bottle of wine with my wife and she said: 'You like hot sauce, you like design. Why don't you make a hot sauce'."
Admitting he "didn't really think much about it" until he watched a quick video, he continued: "I didn't really think much about it and then I ordered a bunch of stuff and I watched a quick video on how to make a hot sauce. I then made the jalapeno one and I really liked it and I thought: 'I really want to do something with this'."
Brooklyn's positive remarks about his wife come after Nicola has been painted as the villain by many following the couple's absence at David Beckham's landmark celebration, reports the Mirror.
The promotional Instagram post where she advertised sunscreen was overtaken by critics on Tuesday (May 6), who condemned her for being absent from David's 50th birthday bash.
Yet, a source told to the Mirror that the star of Transformers actually acts as a mediator between Brooklyn and his family, remarking: "Nicola encourages Brooklyn to see his family and is usually the reason Brooklyn does see his family.
"They are both devastated. They cannot believe that Victoria and David refused to see them privately after they travelled all the way to London specifically to try to repair the relationship."
They went on: "As parents, it's shocking that Victoria and David are behaving this way... instead of privately discussing the issue. Victoria and David (appear to) have no interest in finding a solution that works for everyone."
It is rumoured that Brooklyn opted out of the exuberant festivities in London and the Cotswolds over the weekend due to Romeo’s partner, Kim. The self-proclaimed “nutter in the kitchen” reportedly suspected the DJ’s intentions toward his brother, even though Cruz refuted claims that Brooklyn once courted Kim.
Romeo, Kim, Cruz, and Harper were all present at the birthday event, with Victoria posting photos of the trio of siblings and tagging each – except for Brooklyn.
Typically, if the mother-of-four's eldest son can't make it to a family gathering, she notes that he was 'missed,' but during the recent event, there was no such acknowledgement, prompting supporters to question the artist formerly known as Posh Spice about the noticeable silence.
