Duchess Sophie stepped out with other senior members of the Royal Family on Monday for the first of the VE Day 80th anniversary celebrations. The Duchess of Edinburgh, 60, joined her husband Prince Edward as they accompanied his royal relatives in watching a parade and flypast, followed by a tea party held for WW2 veterans.

While many were of course quick to talk about the importance of the event and the unity of the senior royals for the occasion, some eagle-eyed royal fans were also quick to notice a familiar accessory worn by the duchess, which was once debuted by her daughter Lady Louise Windsor, 21. This wouldn’t be the first time the mother and daughter have swapped fashion accessories and outfits, with Sophie choosing to wear Louise’s embellished pink headband for the VE Day event to accompany her pink and white dress. The hairband is from Jane Taylor and is decorated with beautiful beads, pearls and sequins.

As reported by Hello!, it was previously worn by Lady Louise to Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebrations back in June 2022.

Royal fans were quick to compliment the look and the fact Sophie and Louise tend to share each other's clothes and accessories.

One fan wrote on X: "I love that mother and daughter borrow each other's clothes. It shows trust, intimacy, closeness between them."

Another said: "The pink is flattering on Sophie, and the headband is pretty."

A third wrote: "Sweet to see her wearing pieces her daughter has worn."

Lady Louise Windsor and her brother James, Earl of Wessex, did not attend the VE Day event alongside their parents on Monday.

It is believed Louise would have been up in Scotland, where she is currently in her third year at St Andrews University.
