Cheryl Tweedy has been appointed as the administrator of her late partner Liam Payne's estate, following his untimely death at the age of 31. The former One Direction star tragically passed away last October after a fall from a third-floor balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His estate has been valued at £24.3million, which he has left to his loved ones after he tragically died without writing a will in October last year

Liam, who fathered an eight-year-old son named Bear with Cheryl, had an estate worth £24.3 million but did not leave a will. Legal documents submitted on May 1 indicate that music lawyer Richard Bray is also serving as an administrator, according to The Sun. Initially valued at £28.6 million, Liam's assets were reduced to £24.3 million after settling debts and other expenses.

In the wake of his passing, Cheryl expressed her profound sorrow, calling Liam's death an "earth shattering event".

She continued, highlighting Liam's roles beyond his public persona: "Liam was not only a pop star and celebrity, he was a son, a brother, an uncle, a dear friend and a father to our 7 year old son. A son that now has to face the reality of never seeing his father again."

The Girls Aloud star further expressed her concerns for their child's future exposure to media coverage following his tragic death: "What is troubling my spirit the most is that one day Bear will have access to the abhorrent reports and media exploitation we have seen in the past two days. It is breaking my heart further that I cannot protect him from that in his future.

"I am begging you to consider what use some of these reports are serving, other than to cause further harm to everyone left behind picking up the pieces.

"Before you leave comments or make videos, ask yourself if you would like your own child or family to read them. Please give Liam the little dignity he has left in the wake of his death to rest in some peace at last. Thank you, Cheryl."

Cheryl and Liam's son, Bear, was welcomed into the world at London's Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on March 22, 2017. When Bear was born, Liam took to Instagram to share his astonishment: "My close friends and family know there are very few times when I'm left speechless... wow!".

Despite parting ways shortly after Bear's first birthday, Liam and Cheryl maintained a harmonious co-parenting relationship and despite not being present constantly, Liam has always ensured Bear was well taken care of.

Friends of Liam reveal that the celebrity had prudently arranged "some years ago" for his finances to be inherited by his sole offspring in case anything were to happen to him.

A source confided to The Daily Mail: "Liam had some very sensible people around him for a time and he adored Bear so much.

"He was determined to ensure Bear was looked after financially. It offers scant comfort, but it's some solace knowing that Bear will never suffer financial hardships – he will benefit from Liam’s foresight."
