With the 80th anniversary of VE Day celebrations in full swing, the cameras captured a sweet royal moment as Prince William took his seat alongside his youngest child Prince Louis ahead of the military procession.

In a clip that was widely shared on social media, Louis, who turned seven last month, could be seen dusting his dad's shoulder to ensure the heir to the throne looked more presentable in his uniform. "Aww...Louis looking after his dad," penned one X user.

A second person added: "Prince Louis dusting off his papa's uniform. Such a sweet little kid." A third concurred: "Prince Louis rubbing Prince William’s shoulder, so adorable!"

Whilst a fourth X user noted: "Watching Prince Louis tapping William on the shoulder while William was talking to a gentleman to his side. Just like all kids! And just like all good parents, William acknowledged Louis with his hand touching him, ('hang on a minute son') but continued his conversation."

And a fifth gushed: "Prince Louis brushing some fluff off his dad's uniform... gotta love that boy." The two princes were joined by Princess Catherine, Prince George and Princess Charlotte as the family-of-five sat amongst veterans throughout the parade near the Queen Victoria Memorial.

Moments later, meanwhile, Louis caught the eye again as he hilariously mocked big brother George, 11. With a gust of wind of blowing in the Royals' direction, George was forced to readjust his hair - casually brushing it backwards to complement his side parting.

But Louis, known for his comedic facial expressions in previous Royal public appearances, immediately copied George - seemingly poking fun at his vanity. "Oh Prince Louis so funny without trying!" one X user stated in response. Another joked: "Louis is almost trolling George!"

A third person penned: "I love it! He’s so cheeky." A fourth quipped: "Louis doesn’t even have a quiff!" Whilst a fifth X user added: "How adorable. Prince Louis is going to be a charming handful."

Later today, the King and Queen will host a Tea Party for veterans and members of the Second World War generation at Buckingham Palace. This will include British and Commonwealth Armed Forces veterans, WRENs, Special Operations Executives and those who contributed to the war effort on the home front, accompanied by their families and carers.

Queen Camilla will then visit the iconic ceramic poppy display at the Tower of London tomorrow (Tuesday, May 6), whilst on Wednesday, the King and Queen, the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Princess Royal and Sir Tim Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent will attend a Service of Thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey.

The King and Queen will also attend a live celebratory concert from Horse Guards Parade to conclude the national VE Day commemorations. This will include performances of music from the era alongside the stories of veterans from the Second World War.
