The English actress, 29, says she was proud to have jumped off the second-tallest building in the world with no safety nets.
And she admits to being a huge fan of the Mission Impossible icon, 62, who does some of his own stunts in the blockbuster franchise.
“I hope he thinks I’m cool enough, but here’s the thing: I just love everything that he does and what he brings to the stunt world and the appreciation, and just he’s so vocal about how amazing the stunt world is and are,” she said.
“I wouldn’t have been able to do any of the stuff on this movie if it hadn’t been for a fantastic stunts team. So, yeah, of course Tom is admirable, but I’m not coming for his medal. I just wanted to try it.”
The Oscar-nominated star said when she read the script with the stunt she expected to be wearing a harness with a safety net below her as she jumped off the Merced 118 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
“I was asking one of the stunties, ‘At what level is the net?’,” Florence said.
“And they go, ‘Well, we can’t rig a net around the building’. And I was like, ‘Oh, yeah, of course you can’t’. So there was no net!”
