Stephanie Davis has revealed her newborn son, Samuel, needed immediate medical attention after he suddenly stopped breathing for the second time in a month. The “terrifying” ordeal saw the former Coronation Street actor rushing to hospital once again with the three-month-old child.

The 32-year-old, who shares Samuel with boyfriend Joe McKalroy, took to Instagram to explain she’d gone to a café after attending a baby sensory class when he suddenly fell ill. Two women outside the eatery rang for an ambulance, and the soap actress and her son were taken to hospital again for expert advice.

“We were just having a nice day and then all of a sudden he’s foaming from the mouth with loads of saliva,” the star told her 982,000 Instagram followers, as per The Mirror. “You lose your head as a mum, it’s honestly torture.”

"Poor baby has had two lumber punctures and all sorts done to him to get to the bottom of it all. It’s been a dead upsetting time. I’m trying not to cry again because I’ve just been crying,” she continued.

"On top of that, when he’s in his pram, he doesn’t like the wind in his face. When the wind is in his face, he starts to blow bubbles and hold his breath. It makes me panic.”

Stephanie went on to say that she is now “anxious” about Samuel’s health and that she hopes his spell of ill-health doesn’t turn into a regular occurrence.

"It’s just dead upsetting and worrying. I’m just praying he takes a breath and then worrying that next time he won’t clear it. He’s under the hospital again and we are going back to see them.”

The mother-of-two added that experts had advised her to film her child if he stops breathing again, however, she admitted that recording him would be the “last thing on [her] mind”.

Last month, Stephanie explained that Samuel had experienced a “scary episode” which saw her rushing him to hospital for the first time.

Sharing a black and white photograph to Instagram, the former Celebrity Big Brother contestant wrote: "On Monday Samuel stopped breathing and had 3 scary episodes. I’ve felt totally helpless & powerless the past few days.

“He’s endured 2 lumber punctures which unfortunately didn’t work & had a bloody tap, a head scan, lung scan & I can’t count how many Canulas he’s had to have put in and out plus the rest.

A lumbar puncture is when a thin needle is inserted into the lower back to collect and test cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).

Stephanie explained that her child had experienced “the full works”, being given “every antibiotic to make sure he’s ok.”

"The whole time I have thought about those mums who have poorly babies in hospital for a long time and I honestly don't know how you do it as I'm mentally and physically drained already my anxiety is through the roof think I've gone into autopilot now,” she added.
