Eamonn Holmes, who was hospitalised on Friday, 2nd May, after a fall at home, has refuted allegations of infidelity towards his ex-wife Ruth Langsford. The 65-year-old broadcaster, who has been candid about his health struggles, kept his followers updated throughout the day.
He posted a picture from inside an ambulance and later shared an update from his hospital bed, saying: "An unexpected journey this morning ..... bit of a fall on the bathroom floor. Gosh it hurts. Thank you Ambulance crew."
After being inundated from fans with well-wishes for a quick recovery, he later confessed: "Not how I wanted to be spending The Holiday weekend but life's not easy these days." However, one follower criticised him, saying: "Eamonn your falling apart since you done the dirt on @ruthlangsford."
The GB News presenter quickly retorted: "Says the man whose profile reads 'Be kind and be Nice'."
His supporters also jumped to his defence. One said: "No need to say anything at all about Ruth!" Another added: "You need to change your bio, you obviously don't know the meaning of kindness or nice." Another follower commented: "What a stupid comment you no nothing about the situation its private." Eamonn and Ruth announced their separation last May after 14 years of marriage.
Eamonn Holmes has continued to struggle with health issues since his split from wife Ruth Langsford, with whom he presented This Morning. Eamonn has moved on and is now in a relationship with girlfriend Katie Alexander, while Ruth remains single and still wears her wedding ring.
His health problems began in 2016 with a double hip replacement, followed by years of back issues that led to spinal surgery in 2022. However, his recovery was hindered by a fall at home just two months later, resulting in a broken shoulder that required additional surgery.
In 2023, Eamonn underwent further procedures on his spine and neck, but continues to experience pain, leading to sleepless nights. It's been reported that he's often 'wheeled in and out of the studio' where he hosts GB News Breakfast.
Earlier this year, Eamonn shared a heartfelt update on his health, revealing his ongoing struggle with pain and asking for prayers. He posted: "Even when the sun shines, there's pain. Sometimes I feel I'll never beat this disc immobility but I'm determined to have a life ..... so pray for me, help me or get out of the way social media haters."
Despite their split, a source close to the couple revealed that Ruth has expressed sadness over Eamonn's health struggles. "Ruth honestly doesn't talk about Eamonn, she's really moved on from that part of her life," they said.
"But of course, she does care about him, because they share a child and they were married for a long time. She has seen that he is struggling, and it's sad to see anyone in that situation. Of course, she fears for him and doesn't want to think of Eamonn battling with his health - but she has to focus on herself and her own life now."
