Piers Morgan has wasted no time tearing into Prince Harry after the royal lost his latest legal battle over UK security – branding him a “whiny hypocritical brat” in a blistering takedown on X. The former Good Morning Britain host, who has been outpspoken with his criticism of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex "you can't have your royal cake and eat it" in a scathing eight-word takedown as he shared his feelings on X.

Piers has been one of the couple’s most relentless critics since their move to the United States and departure from royal duties. From dramatic walkouts on live TV to daily digs on social media, Piers has never missed a chance to lash out at Harry and Meghan – and today’s ruling gave him yet another opportunity to twist the knife. It was confirmed Friday (May 2) that Prince Harry has lost his appeal against the UK government’s decision to strip him of publicly funded security while in Britain. Taking to X the YouTube host reacted to the news by writing: “Excellent. The whiny hypocritical brat is now discovering you can’t have your royal cake and eat it…”

The protection downgrade was first imposed in February 2020, shortly after he stepped down as a working royal and relocated to California with Meghan Markle.

Now, his security will continue to be assessed on a case-by-case basis – just like any other high-profile visitor.

In their ruling, judges Lord Justice David Bean, Lord Justice Andrew Edis, and Sir Geoffrey Vos rejected Harry’s argument that the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec) had acted unlawfully.

Sir Geoffrey told the court: “Outside the UK he was outside the cohort, but when in the UK his security would be considered as appropriate depending on the circumstances. It was impossible, I said in my judgement to say that this reasoning was illogical or inappropriate. Indeed it seemed sensible.”

Harry’s legal team had argued that the prince “inherited a security risk at birth, for life,” and highlighted his military service and ongoing threats from extremist groups.

They also said the couple felt “forced to step back” from royal life due to a lack of institutional protection and that Meghan had faced racially motivated abuse from the public and press.

But this latest ruling marks another failed attempt by Harry to regain the level of protection he once had.

Piers, 60, meanwhile, is showing no signs of backing down. He previously declared he didn’t “believe a word” of Meghan’s explosive Oprah interview – particularly her claims that senior royals had made racist comments.

The fallout saw him dramatically quit Good Morning Britain after a fiery clash with colleague Alex Beresford.
