Jay-Z and Beyoncé, who have a combined net worth of around $3billion (£2.26million), could be splashing the cash in a quiet Oxfordshire village in the near future, as the Cotswolds are reportedly on their wishlist. Beyoncé will be leading to London as part of her country music inspired Cowboy Carter tour this June - but while her sound might be distinctively American, if reports are to be believed, it's Britain that has her heart.

Decades ago, in her days as a Destiny's Child songstress, she'd exclaimed that she "couldn't believe" Brits with their "Queen and black cabs" were listening to her voice. Now, of course, she has millions of fans in the UK - and a move to the Cotswolds, also loved by the likes of Taylor Swift, could be imminent. A source told Mail Online that an environmental crisis over in Los Angeles, where their primary home is, has given them a reason to search further afield.

"The wildfires have given them a good reason to look outside of Los Angeles to build new bases," the source explained, following on from earlier reports of lingering toxic air and warnings for locals to stay indoors.

"They will always be based in LA but the UK is on the agenda. Beyoncé loves the UK because they support everything she does."

The power couple have stayed in the Cotswolds before and reportedly love it "because of the land and space", which may remind Beyonce of the rural areas in Texas, the state where she grew up.

The source continued: "They've been looking for properties and will buy if they find somewhere that feels like home, but are looking at short-term agreements while they make their decision."

They'd be in company if they do decide to take the plunge, with other American celebrities who have settled there including retired actress Portia de Rossi and talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres.

Taylor Swift has also lived there after fleeing the scrutiny of the USA following a very public 2016 spat with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian - and she chose to make it a base during some of last year's UK tour too.

Plenty of British celebrities love the quiet Cotswolds too, with the Beckhams and Jeremy Clarkson also calling it home. Recent reports also suggest that Harry and Meghan have taken comfort in the Cotswolds too.

Meanwhile, Beyonce and Jay-Z have bought and sold several properties in the past decade, ranging from a Manhattan penthouse to a converted New Orleans church, and their primary residence is reportedly their $88million (£67million) mansion in Bel Air, California - but sources suggest it won't be long before they're putting down roots in the UK for the first time ever.
