A body has been found in the search for Paria Veisi, who disappeared after leaving work on April 12. Ms Veisi, from Cathays, in Cardiff, was last seen at 3pm on 12 April after leaving her work driving a black Mercedes GLC 200.

A man and a woman have been charged after police launched a murder investigation. The pair appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court and have since been remanded in custody. Ms Veisi’s body was found at an address in Penylan area of the city, police have said.

Ms Veisi's car was later found on Dorchester Avenue in the Penylan area, five miles away from where she was last seen.

A man from Cardiff, who is 41 years old has been charged with murder, preventing lawful and decent burial of a dead body and assaulting a person occasioning them actual bodily harm.

The woman, a 48-year-old from White City Estate, London has been charged with preventing a lawful and decent burial of a dead body and conspiring to pervert the course of justice.

In an earlier appeal, South Wales police said Veisi’s disappearance was “totally out of character”.

On Thursday the force said the case was being treated as a murder investigation, led by its major crime team.

Senior Investigating Officer, Det Ch Insp Matt Powell, said: "This brings our search for Paria to a sad and tragic end.

“Paria's family, all those who knew her, and those in her local community, will be deeply saddened and shocked by these latest developments."

The officer confirmed that police would continue to investigate in and around the crime scene investigators in the Penylan area of Cardiff over the next week.

The two people charged will appear at Cardiff Crown Court on 22 April.
