Inevitably, we all forget to buy one crucial thing when the shops close but try not to get caught out this Easter. The major supermarkets will all have varying opening hours over Easter weekend, with different size shops meaning another different closing time to remember.

But don’t let forgetfulness ruin your Bank Holiday weekend. Here are the opening hours of all the major supermarkets so you can run in for that vital roast dinner ingredient or missing chocolate egg.

Tesco

Tesco Extra stores will be open for restricted hours on Good Friday and Easter Monday, typically from 8am to 6pm. They will close on Easter Sunday, except in Scotland where they will remain open.

Tesco Express stores will open from 6am to 11pm on Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Easter Monday. Both will open as normal on Saturday.

Sainsbury's

Sainsbury’s Local stores will open from 7am to 10pm on Good Friday, Saturday, Easter Sunday, and Easter Monday.

Larger Sainsbury’s stores will open from 7am to 10pm on Good Friday and Saturday, will be shut on Sunday and open from 8am to 8pm on Easter Monday.

Aldi

Aldi stores will open from 8am to 10pm on Good Friday and Saturday, close on Sunday, and open from 8am to 8pm on Easter Monday.

Lidl

Lidl stores will open as normal on Good Friday and Saturday. They will close on Easter Sunday, except in Scotland, and will open between 8am and 10pm on Easter Monday.

Asda

Asda stores will open from 7am to 10pm on Good Friday, Saturday, and Easter Monday. They will close on Easter Sunday, except in Scotland.

Morrisons

Morrisons stores will open from 7am to 10pm on Good Friday, keep normal hours on Saturday, close on Easter Sunday except in Scotland, and open 7am to 8pm on Easter Monday.

Waitrose

Waitrose stores will open from 8am to 8pm on Good Friday and Easter Monday, as usual on Saturday and most stores will shut on Easter Sunday, with the exception of some smaller stores.

Co-op

Co-op stores will open differently based on location, with customers advised to check their local branch. Larger stores will close on Sunday, except in Scotland.
