Prince Harry recently announced he was to step down from Sentebale, the HIV and AIDS charity he co-founded with Prince Seeiso. His announcement came after an alleged spat with Chair Dr Sophie Chandauka that caused their relationship to break down beyond repair. The director says she refused to release a statement in defence of Meghan Markle after video footage emerged of the Duchess appearing to direct her not to stand next to Harry during a photo, causing her to duck underneath a trophy.

Now TalkTV's Julia Hartley-Brewer has waded into the furore, declaring that the couple "need real problems" and dismissing their latest grievance as "absurd". Referring to some fans of the former working royals, she exclaimed: "They completely backed Meghan when she accused a senior royal family member of being racist - absolutely staunch on that - and now here they are [participating in] online racist abuse and harassment of a black woman [Dr Chandauka]!" She added that she was baffled by the "obsession" some have with the couple, joking: "There are people who think Meghan is the second coming!"

As the rant heated up, Julia continued: "I wish Harry and Meghan had just done what they said they were going to do and just sod off to America and lead a private life!" Raising a finger to her lips, she exclaimed: "Shush! just shush! Bye bye! Nobody's interested - nobody cares whether the charity boss stands with you while you're handing over a completely pointless, stupid massive trophy to your husband for playing polo, a game which only five rich people from aristocratic families of top boarding schools play. No-one sodding cares!"

The TalkTV star raged: "These people are absurd and they need to get real problems. They need to be worried about losing their jobs. They need to be worried about paying their electricity bill next week, they need to be worried about whether they can get into A&E! They need a proper problem, as opposed to 'Oh, I'm a bit worried about the trustees of this charity that I started from my multimillionaire palace!'"

Julia reasoned: "I just don't think British people - the sane British people - care about this." Then, taking a swipe at Meghan's latest business venture, As Ever, she concluded: "I don't want to buy your jam or your bath-bombs either!"

In Julia's eyes, sympathy for the Duchess had dwindled ever since her controversial interview with US talk show host Oprah Winfrey, with Piers Morgan claiming that she and Harry had made 17 major "untrue, exaggerated or unprovable" statements during it.
