Former boxing champion Nicola Adams has revealed that she and OnlyFans model Ella Baig, 27, have split. The 42-year-old became the first woman to win an Olympic boxing gold medal. She also starred on Strictly Come Dancing in 2020 and also became the show's first celebrity same-sex couple after being paired with Katya Jones.

However, after seven years of dating, a spokesperson praised the former couple's journey as they confirmed their breakup. The pair also share a two-year-old son, Taylor Nate, who was born via IVF using Nicola’s eggs. The former Olympian’s spokesperson said: “Nicola and Ella have shared an incredible journey together, full of love, growth, and resilience.

“After much thoughtful reflection and important therapy work, they have made the difficult decision to separate.

“Their priority remains their son, Taylor, and they are committed to co-parenting with love and respect,” they added to The Sun.

According to a source, the pair attempted to make their relationship work with expert help before officially calling it quits.

The insider claimed: “They really tried to make it work, especially for the sake of their son, and even went to couples’ therapy, but came to the conclusion that they were better off separating.

“They still have a lot of love for each other, and great memories, but are focused on being brilliant co-parents.”

The estranged couple started dating in 2018 after meeting on a night out and began IVF in 2020.

They revealed that the egg was fertilised via a sperm donor who resembled Ella, and she carried the baby, giving birth a month early via caesarean section. He weighed just 3lb 14ozs.

Following his birth, Nicola spoke to Vogue magazine about how there was a lack of parenting books for same-sex families, she said: "The information is out there but we really had to dig for it."
